Uniform in Early Years

Nursery

In the Nursery, children are not expected to wear full school uniform. However, we do ask that children wear the school jumper/cardigan and polo shirt. Click here for school uniform guidance.

Winter: Dark grey or black tracksuit bottoms (no logos), school polo shirt and jumper/cardigan

Summer: Dark grey or black shorts, school polo shirt and jumper/cardigan

Children need to feel comfortable and not worry about getting messy, climbing on apparatus or sitting on the floor.

  • For health and safety reasons jewellery is not permitted in the Nursery. Children should be able to put on their own clothes such as coats, aprons and dressing up clothes.
  • Please provide a change of clothing for your child in a labelled rucksack so that we can change them if they have an accident or if they get wet when investigating in the water tray.  You can leave the rucksack on their peg.
  • Nursery children can play in the playground everyday so it is important that they are dressed appropriately e.g. coats, hats, gloves and scarves. Please ensure that these items are labelled.
  • Please ensure that your child wears suitable shoes for example, shoes that close using Velcro (sticky shoes) to enable children to be more independent. Flip-flops or slip-on shoes are not permitted as they are dangerous particularly during outdoor play.
